ParticipantHi everyone,
I recently started using Membership for WooCommerce Pro to manage my site’s exclusive content. I’m trying to figure out the best way to use the Content Protection feature to segment my posts.
I have two membership levels: “Silver” and “Gold.” I want to ensure that my “Gold” members can see everything, but “Silver” members are restricted from certain high-value posts and products.
Is it possible to set these rules globally, or do I need to edit each post individually?
What does a non-member see when they try to access a protected page? Is there a way to customize that “restricted access” message to encourage them to sign up?
I’d love to hear how you all are structuring your Content Restriction rules to keep your premium content secure while still driving conversions.
Thanks in advance for the help!

Devin WilliamsParticipantHello! Great choice with the Membership for WooCommerce Pro plugin. Setting up content segmentation is one of its strongest features for driving “VIP” value. Here are the answers to your specific questions:
1. Global vs. Individual Post Rules
You don’t have to edit every post manually! The plugin allows you to manage access in two main ways:Bulk/Global Rules: Within the membership plan settings, you can use the Select Access to Membership Pages and Posts feature to pick entire categories or multiple pages at once.
Individual Overrides: If you have a specific post that doesn’t fit the general rule, you can use the Override Membership Plan Access feature on that specific page to grant or deny access regardless of the global settings.
2. Handling Non-Member Access
When a non-member (or a Silver member trying to access Gold content) hits a restricted page, the plugin typically handles it in one of two ways:The Restricted Message: You can display a custom message. To drive conversions, it’s best to use this space to explain why they can’t see the content and provide a direct link to the Membership Registration page.
Teaser Content: You can also use the Show Offered Prices/Discounts to Non-Members setting to show them what they are missing out on (like a member-only price) to pique their interest.
Pro-Tip for your Tiers:
Since you want Gold members to see everything, ensure your “Gold” plan has all categories and products selected under its access rules. For the “Silver” plan, simply leave the high-value categories unchecked. If you get stuck, the WP Swings Support Team is known for being very responsive, even helping with custom tweaks if you need a specific layout for your restricted messages!
