ParticipantYes, for products that are hard to understand from photos and text alone. Explainer videos work best for items with features to demonstrate, setup steps, or a clear before and after. They’re less useful for simple products that already speak for themselves.
- Start with your support inbox: pick the 2 or 3 products that generate the most repeat questions. That’s where a video pays off fastest.
- Keep it short: 30 to 90 seconds is enough. Lead with the problem it solves, show the product in use, and end with a clear next step.
- Put it near the buy button: place the video high on the product page, not buried below the reviews, and add captions since many people watch without sound.
- Compress and lazy-load: heavy video files slow product pages, so host on a video platform or use embeds that load only when clicked.
- Reuse it: the same video can go into festive campaigns, emails, and social posts.
- Measure the result: compare conversion rate, support questions, and returns for those products before and after.
Newer AI tools can bring production cost down a lot, but always review scripts and visuals for accuracy before publishing.
