I keep issuing manual refunds and it’s a pain to track. Someone mentioned a wallet or store credit system, how would I actually set that up on my WooCommerce store?
A wallet system is useful if you handle frequent refunds, gift cards, or cashback style loyalty: instead of a bank refund every time, you credit the customer’s in-store wallet, and they’re likely to spend it back into your store.
What a good setup needs:
- Balance visible on the account page and at checkout.
- Admin ability to manually credit or debit wallets for support cases.
- Auto crediting on refunds and cancellations, not manual entry.
- Support for partial wallet plus partial gateway payment, so customers aren’t forced to use 100% wallet balance at once.
Building this from scratch touches order hooks, gateway logic, and account templates: a lot of surface area for bugs. WP Swings’ WooCommerce Wallet System plugin handles all of this natively, including auto refunds to wallet and partial payments, usually the trickiest part to get right manually.
